Perm is celebrating the anniversary Town Day on June 12

Town Day celebrations, started day earlier, continued on June 12. New viewpoint at the Planetarium and a monument for radio inventor Alexander Popov were presented on June 11. Photo project “Perm: Yours and Mine”, telling the story of old and contemporary Perm, started working at the Theatre Square.

More than 2000 people took part in the Town Day celebration at the Tatishev monument late evening on June 11.

New memorial desks, honoring successful and famous organizations, were opened today at the Alley of Valor and Fame. More than 2000 people took part in the carnival parade in downtown Perm. This year parade marched down the Lenin Street, from Dzerzhinsky Square to the “White Nights” festival site. City and region public authorities, members of cultural autonomies of the Perm Krai, performance ensembles of different dance styles for kids and grown-ups took part in the parade.  

Children festival has began right after the parade at the square before the Theatre-Theatre. Eight interactive playgrounds and concert platforms were working for kids. The evening program started at 5 p.m. with a “San-Remo songs in Perm” show. The famous “Ricchi e Poveri”, Umberto Tozzi and other Italian pop stars performed at the concert. More than 60 musicians from Italy and on-stage performance groups from Perm participated in the show.

The annual Town Day firework will start at 11.30 p.m. at the territory of “Red Barracks” and will be visible from Komsomolskaya Square, Karl Marx Square, Southern dam, Heroes of Hasan Street and other places.

Public transport will be working till 2 a.m. to help people get home safety after the firework.

Part of the Town Day celebration events will be held at the “White Nights” festival site.
